The study investigates the effects of gender, age, and ethnicity of both targets and observes on the accuracy of age estimation. Furthermore, the effects of targets’ facial expressions (neutral or smiling), use of makeup and photo quality are investigated.

The study investigates assumptions underlying credibility assessments in Finnish first-instance asylum procedures and how these assumptions fit with widely accepted psychological science.

This study examines the recidivism rates of Finnish child sex offender convicted in 2010 (n = 361) over a follow-up period of seven years. The results indicate that while reoffending for other types of offences was common (34 %), offenders had very low sexual crime recidivism rates.

The article examines if eyewitness accuracy is affected by the method (VR/2D-video) in which threating and non-threatening scenes are shown in laboratory-based research.

The aim of the study was to examine what kind of biases can occur in simultaneous and sequential line-ups and whether age and distance has an impact on these biases.

The aim of the study was to investigate the simultaneous effects of distance and age on eyewitnesses’ descriptive accuracy. The results showed that increased distances decreased accuracy and that especially young children performed overall worse than adults.
