Dr Patrizia Pezzoli is a LEPÅ alumna, currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Forensic Research Unit at The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR) affiliated with the University of Ottawa.
With her research, Dr. Pezzoli aims to identify and tackle some of the biological factors underlying interpersonal violence.
During her doctoral studies at Åbo Akademi, she investigated how the interplay of genetic and environmental risk factors might predispose some individuals to interpersonal victimization and psychopathology.
Her current work focuses on the neurocognitive markers of sexual and non-sexual violence in forensic patients.
